Sing with Us
As we work to grow our choral community, we are committed to designing ensembles, educational opportunities and community projects for singers of all ages and levels of experience.
Northwest Vocal Arts currently consists of three ensembles: Chamber Choir (professional choir with youth choral apprentices); Youth Choir (grades 8-12) and PDX Parents Choir (children grades 2-4 & 5-7 and their parents).

Become a Choral Apprentice
Every year, NWVA selects eight talented high school students (grades 11-12) to serve as our Choral Apprentices for the following season. Those selected will sing with and be mentored by our professional artists as members of the Chamber Choir and serve as section leaders for the NWVA Youth Choir.
Choral Apprentices will receive a full tuition scholarship and be paid a quarterly stipend.
Though our Choral Apprentices have been selected for the 2024-25 season, if you are interested in becoming one in the future please fill out the form below and we will reach out to you when auditions are open! -
Join the Youth Choir
We are excited to welcome ALL students grades 8-12 to sing in the NWVA Youth Choir under the direction of Karen Bohart.
Thanks to generous donors, every member of our youth choir will be provided with a 100% tuition scholarship, regardless of prior experience and without an audition.
We will rehearse every Monday night beginning Oct. 21 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Rose City Park United Methodist Church, located at 5830 NE Alameda St. Portland, OR 97213.
